They have been a source of inspiration for decades and continue to excite a new generation of artists, writers, performers and musicians. To celebrate our final artist in residence, photographer and filmmaker Simon Warner, the Watershed Landscape team have
asked budding photographers to capture the essence of the moorlands through the lens of their camera. ‘Moor Views’ exhibits the competition images alongside exhibits from the Museum and Gallery collection as we explore the unique character of this special
landscape.

Fair Trade Way at Christchurch Methodist/URC Ilkley

The Fair Trade Way is a scenic, circular walking route linking all the Fairtrade villages and towns in the district: Bradford, Bingley, Shipley, Baildon, Burley, Ilkley, Haworth, Denholme and Thornton.

The district’s Fairtrade groups will be walking a section of the new Fair Trade Way each Saturday (excluding Easter Saturday) finishing in Bradford on World Fair Trade Day, May 12.

Join members of Ilkley Fairtrade Group and Ilkley Walkers are Welcome group as they walk the new Bradford District Fair Trade Way from Ilkley to Haworth via Keighley.

If you can’t come on the walk, join us at Haworth railway sation at 1.35 for a welcome by the Rainbow Morris dancers; refreshments at the Old Hall pub and a play about the Brontes and Fairtrade at the Bronte Parsonage.

Macmillan Cancer Support’s Ilkley Committee are holding their annual Fashion Show at Craiglands Hotel, on Thursday 19 April. Maradadi, The Fitting Room, Rag Doll of Pudsey, Promises and The Wendy House, Viyella, CC and Austin Reed will be showcasing their Spring fashions on the catwalk. Doors open at 6.30 p.m. to browse the many stalls. There will be a raffle.

The King’s Hall is proud to welcome back the Champion Brass Band of Great Britain 2010 and 2011, The Brighouse and Rastrick Band.

Highly regarded by many as the best and most consistent ‘public subscription band’ in the world, in its time the majority of premier band championships have been held by ‘Briggus’ whilst the band has also attracted a formidable reputation for highly entertaining concerts for both the general public and brass band connoisseur.
